My stay at this cabin was not what I expected. While the setting by the Big Thompson River was beautiful and I enjoyed watching the wildlife like hummingbirds and elk, the negatives really affected my experience. The cabin had a persistent smell of smoke that clung to everything, dirty carpets, and a lack of bathroom privacy due to missing blinds. We even dealt with bugs and a toilet issue during our stay. It definitely needs some upgrades.

I had an amazing solo retreat at the Ponderosa Lodge. The tranquil atmosphere by the river was a huge highlight, and I really appreciated the cleanliness and thoughtful touches in my room. While the location is picturesque, accessing it via a steep dirt road was a bit challenging. Overall, it was a fantastic getaway that offered great value for my money.

The room was impeccably clean and extremely comfortable. I loved the hammock on the balcony with a view of the creek, and the quality toiletries really added to the experience.

Our stay started off poorly when we were given the wrong room, and the staff's response was unkind. While the view from our room was nice, we struggled with noise from upstairs guests and a lack of privacy. It's hard to recommend this place considering the issues we faced, despite the reasonable rates. Overall, this hotel unfortunately did not meet our expectations.

My experience at this lodge was incredibly disappointing. While the location by the river was lovely, the room I stayed in was in poor condition with dated amenities. The service was frustrating, especially when I attempted to address issues with hot water. I wouldn't recommend it due to these shortcomings, despite the beautiful surroundings.

Rooms

The room was really dated, with some lights not working and a small bath. I also had no hot water when I needed it, making my stay less comfortable.
Service

The service was lacking; when I mentioned the hot water issue, the owner was dismissive and showed no concern.

Facilities could use improvement, especially considering the porch security issues and the lack of hot water.

We were excited to stay at this lodge, but our experience was a mixed bag. On one hand, the lodge provided a lovely ambiance with nature right outside our door, including elk and hummingbirds. On the other, the cabin fell short in various areas, including cleanliness, unpleasant odors, and a few maintenance issues. Overall, while the location offered some great views and experiences, the negatives significantly impacted our stay.

Rooms
The cabin was spacious enough, but the cleanliness was lacking, with stained carpets and an unpleasant smoke smell that lingered throughout. Rating: 4

Service was average; while staff responded to issues, like unclogging the toilet, it felt more like a temporary fix than a genuine solution, as we found a plunger left on the deck. Rating: 5
